Farmington Fall

Fall is my favorite time of year. I really missed it while we were away. Southern California has a pseudo-fall, but it has been great to experience the real thing again. Lucinda and I have been taking every opportunity to enjoy the balmy weather and beautiful colors (that’s the main reason that I haven’t posted anything in a few weeks). Now the leaves have almost disappeared and the bareness of the trees signal that even though it is still warm, winter is just around the corner.

Fall has brought a harvest of sorts. The basement is finished after four months of work (see picture). We received our occupancy permit October 18th. It is a blessing to have an extra bedroom (which Jared Burke now occupies), a comfortable place to worship, an adequate sound barrier (drop ceiling) from the kids upstairs, and the biggie, a restroom. It has been our prayer that our home could be used to bring others to Christ. We thank the Lord for the means to finish our basement in a fashion condusive to holding a Bible Study.

That being said, we are praying about going to Sunday mornings sometime after the first of the year. This requires a building/rooms to rent. It has been said that where there is great need the Lord raises up a great many to meet that need. This seems to be the case in the Parkland area. There are many new church plants of all denominations. This, coupled with the area’s growth, means that nearly every available square foot of affordable space is occupied.
Please pray that we would wait on God for His timing and not limit His provision by any of our own preconcieved notions. We look forward to seeing God move.

Thank you for your prayers.

God bless,
Mike
