In the Old Testament a name meant something. Children were named based on events surrounding their birth or, in many cases, a name was chosen that would denote their character. Based on prophecies, divine visitation, and angelic revelation, some of the major players in the OT were given names that summarized their life. Lucinda and I had none of the above transpire while picking a name for our son, but we did want the name to have meaning. We wanted it to be a biblical name. We wanted it to be a name that expressed our feelings regarding his birth. We wanted it to project our prayers for his character. [Read more]
