Our Pastor

Mike Harrison became a Christian as a child while attending a Baptist church in rural southeast Missouri, where his dad was a minister. In his early twenties, Mike began to feel a call into the ministry. He served for a time with an inner city youth ministry in East St. Louis, Il. and was active in a local church near there. It was during this time that Mike met and married the love of his life, Lucinda.

Mike became acquainted with Calvary Chapel while visiting with Lucinda’s parents in San Diego, CA. As he visited her home church, Maranatha Chapel, and observed the simple contemporary worship, verse by verse Bible teaching, and emphasis on the grace of God, it changed his Christian life.

Having been so impacted by the Calvary Chapel style of worship at Maranatha Chapel, Mike quickly began to devote himself to the study of expositional Bible study and Bible teaching.

While living in Desloge Missouri, as a newlywed, God began to impress upon his heart the need for a simple, verse by verse, Bible teaching church in the area.

In 1998 Mike and Lucinda moved from the Midwest to San Diego where Mike attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in preparation to return and plant a church in Missouri.

After Bible College both Mike and Lucinda served at Maranatha Chapel, he as the Jr. High Pastor, and she in the church’s Accounting Department. It was through these opportunities and experiences that God continued to refine and prepare them.

In February of 2005, through prayer and the Word, the Lord confirmed in their hearts that it was time to return to Missouri and establish a new fellowship.

Mike and Lucinda have two sons, Nathaniel James, born in February of 2007, and Luke Anthony, born in April 2009.
